If your state or county requires us to collect sales tax on your subscription or product, you'll see the estimated tax amount reflected in your total at checkout.
The U.S. Supreme Court in South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc., 585 U.S. ___, 138 S. Ct. 2080 (2018), affirmed that states may require out-of-state businesses to collect sales taxes on transactions in the state even if the business has no physical presence there.
Please note that even if your state did not require us to collect sales tax in the past, your state may still require us to do so in the future (either because the state has changed its rules or Quimbee has met the minimum threshold of sales in the state for tax collection purposes). In that case, we will send you an email notification that sales tax will be collected going forward.
If you have an active subscription, you may visit your Settings page on our website to view your next payment amount with the sales tax added. If you prefer to not pay this updated total, you may cancel your subscription on your Settings page.
Lastly, the sales tax collected is tied to your billing address zip code. If you need to change your zip code, you may do so on your Settings page. You may also need to update your billing address with your financial institution.
